Hey!

Welcome to my blog. I'm here to share with you all of my favorite places to eat. Hope you find the restaurant that's right for you!

The Daily Beet

I was lucky enough to find a health focused cafe just down the street from my hotel. The Daily Beet is a juice bar and cafe that serves seasonal smoothies, cold-pressed juices, salads, grain bowls, and toasts. Immediately after walking into the cafe I knew this was the place for me. The shelves on the walls were filled with various succulents, each table also had a succulent assigned to it, and Bob Marley was flowing through the speakers. I truly felt at home. To top it all off, I was greeted by the sweetest employee that showered me in compliments about my afro and dress, and he also remained patient while I decided what to order.

First came the drinks. The Blue Dream Smoothie was everything I thought it would be. This smoothie was the refreshing tropical drink that I needed on that 92 degree morning. The Blue Dream Smoothie was the perfect blend of blueberries, pineapples, mangos, bananas, and agave. When I ordered the seasonal lemonade I was expecting a regular degular lemonade, but instead I was blessed with a Mango Dragon Lemonade that tasted nothing like any lemonade I’ve ever had. It was sweet, tangy, refreshing, and filled with all sorts of flavors. The lemonade also had a slight thickness to it, almost on the verge of being a smoothie. I honestly could’ve drank two glasses of that lemonade!

As a starter I ordered the Avocado Toast. It was a thick layer of smashed avocados with arugula, cherry tomatoes, sea salt, chili flakes, and a drizzle of olive oil spread across two slices of Bellegarde Country Toast. The bread was light and soft to the bite, but thick enough to hold the avocados. Afterwards, I dove right into the Morning Bowl. This hearty bowl was filled with quinoa, black bean, corn, cherry tomato, toasted pepita, and avocado chipotle sauce, all served on a bed of greens. I removed the pastured egg and cotija cheese from the order. Foolish me thought that I could finish the bowl by myself after eating two slices of avocado toast. It seemed like a never ending bowl of greens and quinoa. I definitely enjoyed the bowl, but next time I’ll share it with someone if I plan on ordering an appetizer again.

The highlight for me was the Acai Bowl! This was my second time having a acai bowl (the first was at by CHLOE. Back Bay) and it was everything and more. From the banana slices, to the blueberries, strawberries, the drizzle of honey, it was all so refreshing and pleasing to the soul. All in all, The Daily Beet is a great cafe for anyone, vegan or not, to grab light and healthy meals. You can opt to take the food to go or take a seat and enjoy your food in a relaxing atmosphere.
